It’s easy to get discouraged when you look around at the things that have happened in the country within just the last few years. Transgenderism has taken root in many schools and communities across the nation. Wokism has infected companies, commercialism, and even kids programming. The gay lifestyle is celebrated. Abortion is revered. Transgender athletes are adored. It seems like we’re living in the days of the Judges, when “every man did that which was right in his own eyes” (Judg. 21:25). 

 

But there is still hope. Last Friday, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. For almost fifty years, abortion has been seen as a legal right because of this terrible decision. In that time, over 60 million babies have been aborted a.k.a. murdered. But that has all changed! With the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the Left has lost its teeth when it comes to the issue of abortion. They cannot make a moral argument, for science has long proven that the “thing” within a mother is a living person. And now they cannot make a legal argument either. 

 

Abortion will not be gone for good, of course. This decision means that states will decide the fate of this terrible practice. Certain states, such as Colorado, California, and New York, will be havens for those seeking an abortion, but other states (such as Texas and Alabama) have banned the practice outright. The good news is that a total of 26 states are seeking to ban abortion. Understand that this number could grow if Americans elect more pro-Life state representatives in the upcoming mid-term elections. 

 

But that’s not all. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has stated that the Supreme Court should now consider overturning other past decisions that were “demonstrably erroneous decisions.” He specifically mentioned three cases that had to do with married couples obtaining contraceptives, the engagement of private sexual acts, and the right to same-sex marriage. These were all immoral rulings, and since Roe v. Wade has been overturned, these other decisions are within the realm of possibility of being overturned as well. 

 

But that’s not all. Thanks to the school shutdowns of the pandemic, many parents have become aware of the heinous immoral teachings that their children are being indoctrinated with in public schools. The outcry has been great, and the results will be vitally important. Parents don’t want their kids to be subjected to transgender ideology or sex education. The Left doesn’t seem to realize that there is nothing worse than angry mothers! On top of that, companies that are pushing the woke agenda are seeing a decline in sales and stock prices. People don’t want to support companies that push such blatant immoral doctrine. 

 

My point is this: America is finally starting to turn around morally, and that means there is hope! The Left’s immoral ideology is not succeeding, not with the majority of the country at least. As we return to biblical morality, God’s blessing will return to the nation too. But please don’t become complacent. We still have a long way to go! Pray for our great nation. Pray that the Supreme Court will overturn these other bad decisions, and pray that godly people will be elected so that good legislation can be passed. And of course, pray for revival in churches all across America. But whatever you do, don’t be discouraged—our prayers and our actions ARE making a difference.
